Congratulations on booking your Bounders Experience! To help you get the most out of your Experience and to help everything run smoothly, we've put this page together for you. Here you'll find out what to expect, what to bring with you etc...

FOR YOUR PHOTO SESSION - Based in beautiful Derbyshire. It's super easy to get here, only 5-10 minutes away from Junction 29 of the M1 near Chesterfield. For our photo sessions, we mostly meet at the Hardwick Inn (S44 5QJ - see map below) a stunning 16th century building with many scenic walks around.

LOCATIONS

CHESTERFIELD, DERBYSHIRE

For the Summer Sunset, Original and Peaks Mini-Break Experiences and 121 tutorials, the photo session and viewing session locations are usually as detailed below (unless decided between you and Joe beforehand).

If we're coming to you for the UK-Wide Experience, I'm gonna assume you know where you live and where we're going...hopefully...

DIRECTIONS TO HARDWICK INN

Whichever way you come, you'll probably go around the roundabout for J29 on the M1. If you're coming north up the M1, take the first exit off that roundabout (onto A6175) and then take a left onto Mill Lane. Follow this road and signs for the Hardwick INN. Your Sat Nav will try and take you up to the HALL but please don't, stay on Mill Lane and Sat Nav should change the route and take you to the Inn.

Once you reach the Inn, there is an overflow car park on your right, keep going a bit further and you will see Joe and the Bounders car usually parked up somewhere near the pub beer garden. Find a space and enjoy your photo session!

FOR YOUR VIEWING SESSION - At the Bounders Lounge, a little further into Chesterfield from Hardwick, you can sink into the sofas with a drink and relax in our dedicated viewing area, while looking through every image from your photo session on the big screen. Again, fairly easy to get to, 10 minutes away from Junction 29 of the M1.

(It is highly advised that your viewing session is at the Bounders Lounge, but for those who can't make it back to us, online viewing sessions can be arranged.)

THE WEATHER

This is not California, and therefore we cannot guarantee the wonderful British weather will be on our side. Ultimately Joe has the last say on whether or not a photo session will go ahead, but he will always confer with you 24-48 hours before your photo session.

The biggest enemy is mid-heavy rain. If this is likely, Joe will either attempt to move the photo session around the forecast rain, or reschedule free of charge if necessary.

For weekend Experiences, it may be that the photo session end's up on the Sunday or Friday eve, if possible. We have found that while rescheduling is a pain, and we do what we can to avoid it, it regularly works out for the best in the long run.

THE PHOTO SESSION

To begin with, you will meet up with Joe and go for a bit of a walk and an explore while getting to know each another. Upon reaching a location, Joe then sets to work, initiating playtime with each dog and capturing some great portraits of them in their element. Photo sessions can also include a little splash about in the water, depending on location, so you may want to bring a dog towel etc. You can bring up to 2 dogs per Experience (extra dogs £45 each). It usually takes around 1-3 hours, although there are no time limits. It's a relaxed pace, guided by your dog's comfort and capability.

WHAT TO BRING

Dog Lead There may be other dog walkers, wildlife or livestock. Any livestock are usually well behaved, so we must be the same and respect their space!

Poo Bags - These are also a must.

Water for Your Dog - A Bounders photo session can be thirsty work.

Treats, Squeekys & Balls - You can help Joe by bringing along whatever gets your dog really excited. Whatever triggers your pooch into play mode.

Good Footwear - Make sure you are wearing something on your feet you can walk in, and that you don't mind getting a little muddy!

Dog Towel - If your dog loves running into the lakes or if its wet underfoot (or if your pooch has slobber-chops!), we can quickly rub them down and continue the photo session.

What You Normally Take - Whatever else you feel you may need on a normal walk with your dog.

VIEWING TIME

Afterwards, we book you in for your viewing session at our Bounders Lounge in Hasland, about 10 mins from Hardwick Inn (Unit 25A, Storforth Lane Trading Estate, S41 0QQ - see map above). This is usually a weekday evening, and lasts around 2 hours. Relax with a drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments available) and go through all the images from your photo session. We then curate your absolute favourites to be fully edited for sharing on social media. From these images you can then choose if and how you would like to display them in your home from our wide variety of wall art options. Everything from single portrait frames, to framed canvasses, to epic 9 portrait masterpieces.
