CAMERA & DOG SKILLS
TBC - Hopefully late summer
Hardwick Inn, Derbyshire (S44 5QJ)
10am-4pm
"Anyone can teach you how to operate a camera, but do you know how to understand and interact with your pups to get the shots you want?...
I'll teach you how to do both!"
- Joe -
- WHAT'S INCLUDED -
- WELCOME DRINKS & LUNCH -
The Hardwick Inn have been more than generous in providing us with a classroom for the day, as well as catering for our welcome drinks and lunch time needs. Choose from our short menu of their delicious food!
-
Any dietary requirements? No probs, let us know when booking.
-
Feeling super hungry, and want dessert? Just upgrade on the day!
- CLASSROOM TIME -
Before we meet the dogs, there's some theory to cover, indoors in the warmth of the pub. We'll also have a second talk after lunch.
-
Feel free to bring a notepad if you enjoy taking notes.
-
Topics will include dog mindset, short cutting trust, basic editing & lighting.
- OUTDOOR WORKSHOP -
Meet the dogs! Learn tricks and tips, and watch Joe at work. Then spend some time putting into practice the theory. There will be 2 sessions outside, so plenty of time to get hands on and try things with your own gear.
-
Bring your own cameras! (and manuals if you don't know your camera well)
-
Wrap up warm! It can get cold standing in a field. Wear good footwear.
- Q&A PLUS INFORMAL CHAT -
Once we've finished in the field for the second time, we will go back to the pub and officially be finished. Those who need to get off can do so. Those who would like to hang out with Joe and ask more questions over a drink are welcome to stay. Beware, Joe can talk...don't let him keep you if you need to leave!

PLEASE NOTE
A basic understanding of your DSLR or equivalent camera (e.g. how to switch to manual mode) would be an advantage. Joe will do his best to cover as much as possible to make sure all levels are catered for, as we all learn at different rates.
While taking good photos is made a lot easier with good quality gear, knowledge of how to use it, and how to get the best out of your subjects is the real key.
